The quickest way to order repeat prescriptions is online, where you can also nominate a pharmacy, book appointments and view your GP medical record. To sign up without needing to visit the Practice go to www.nhs.uk/nhsapp. Alternatively you can download an application form from the Online Services page for Patient Access and bring it in with two forms of ID.
You must provide two working days' notice for our Practice to process your request. The chemist may also need 24-48 hour's notice to dispense the medication. All patients having repeat prescriptions will be required to see their doctor at regular intervals. For all requests, if you are going away on holiday please make sure you state this on the request otherwise it may be rejected.
Other than online access, you can also order repeat prescriptions in the following ways:
By post: a stamped, addressed envelope must be included if you want the prescription returned to you by post
Personally: by placing your request in the box provided in the waiting area
By email: firstname.lastname@example.org
This email is for repeat prescriptions only, please do not request any other information by email.
Electronic Prescription Service
The Electronic Prescription Service allows your prescription to be sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice.
To sign up, you need to speak to your preferred pharmacy and complete a form to confirm that they can receive your prescription directly.
Once you have signed up, your chosen pharmacy will receive your prescription electronically and you will not have to pick up your paper prescription from us.
If you have already nominated a pharmacy, your prescription will be sent to them electronically unless you tell us otherwise. If you need to obtain a paper prescription for any reason, just let us know at the time of ordering.
